Ronald Reagan is seen more negatively in Germany due to his strong anti-communist stance and his administration's confrontational approach towards the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Many Germans, especially those in the former East Germany, view Reagan's policies as contributing to the division of their country and the perpetuation of the Cold War tensions. Additionally, Reagan's decision to deploy Pershing II missiles in West Germany as part of the NATO response to Soviet SS-20 missiles further fueled anti-Reagan sentiment in the country. Overall, Reagan's foreign policy decisions and his role in the Cold War have left a lasting negative impression on many Germans. **
